Product Review: Emile Noel's Artisan Organic Toasted Sesame Oil

Emile Noel's Artisan Organic Sesame Oil is rich, aromatic and very authentic tasting. Unlike many sesame oils, this one is the real thing. It is perfect for salads, soups and cooking Asian dishes.

In addition to the Toasted Sesame Oil, Emile Noel mills a wide selection of organic virgin olive, nut, and seed oils including mild olive, robust olive, sunflower oil, pumpkin seed, hazelnut, walnut, and sweet almond. Emile Noel's oils are non-GMO and organic.

Sushi Maki - Coral Gables, FL

I wanted sushi for lunch and was headed to the restaurant across the street when I saw that this place which was jam packed so I made the quick switch to go here instead because if its packed, it has to be better.

The restaurant is fairly small and you can dine outside but unless I'm crazy I'm not doing that in the middle of the day in the Miami heat so dining in was the only option. We got lucky though and they found us a table in the back.

For starter we had the Sushi Taco Trio. It not the best quality fish, but for the prices you are paying (which is quite cheap), it is understandable. I quite enjoyed the tacos but sadly this was as good as it was going to get.

I then had a Red Dragon Reloaded Roll. It was alright, but I personally didn't really enjoy it. It had a strange tangy, sour taste that was throwing it off.

My dining companion had the Pad Thai and Steak. The Pad Thai wasn't bad, but was not great either and it was just very odd that the steak tasted like liver and kind of look like it too.

We also tried the Char-Sui Roast Pork Ramen. The were some likeable elements, but really I would never get that again.

We finished the meal off with the  Banana Wontons. The bananas were over ripe and very soft. The wontons on the other hand were dry and a little difficult to bite into. It was a bit of a disastrous dessert.

Service was okay, a bit slow at times. Prices are great, but I am not really willing to compromise quality for a good price.

Nankin Asian Grill - Fort Lauderdale, FL

The restaurant and location is beautiful and I'll give it to them, service was very attentive and friendly. However, the food was not so good. I think only thing we consumed that was great was the bottle of wine.

I had the Mongolian BBQ Lamb. The flavor of the sauce was great. It has some heat and was not too sweet. The problem lies in how cold the food was. The rice was also cold and overcooked. And, I didn't like the way they cut up the lamb into little pieces.

My fiancé said he liked his steak, but that the sauce they put on top was cold, as were his vegetables. They steak wasn't bad, but definitely not worth the price they were charging.

Cold food is never okay, but when the restaurant isn't busy, it makes even less sense and is just insulting.

Product Review: MatchaDNA Organic Black Matcha Tea

I cannot speak of the claims that this tea is suppose to have (provide focus, energy and weight loss) nor I am going to, I am just going to assume that like most teas, it is a good source of antioxidants.

What I did want to know was if it tasted good. Like any tea, coffee or herbal drink, it does not naturally have a great taste, but like you would normally prepare you tea, coffee or herbal drink, by adding sugar, cream, milk, etc. you will be able to get a desired taste.

I did really like the fact that they had recipes on their website which give you alternate uses.

Product Review: Propresser Garlic Press

Bring on the garlic! My garlic chopping, mincing, crushing or whatever you want to call it, has just gotten so much easier with my new Propresser Garlic Press. I've had Garlic presses in the past and every single one has given me problems to use or just flat ended up breaking, so I gave up and went back to just my knife and cutting board.

With my new Propresser Garlic Press, I have gotten what I never found before which is a high quality, sturdy, stainless steel product that is able to handle the work and is not afraid of a little garlic. I also like the design and the fact that it is so easy to clean. I am able to throw it in my dishwasher and it does not rust, too.

While I didn't need to use the garlic press while making a batch of Pesto (because I was throwing it in my food processor anyways), you can at least get an idea of how the press does its job.

Commercial Point Cafe - Fort Lauderdale, FL

Commercial Point Café is located in a hidden shopping center and without really knowing about it, it will be missed, but I somehow managed to find it.

Commercial Point CafĂ© serves simple diner food in a very casual restaurant. I had the Triple Decker Turkey Club which was pretty memorable for an everyday sandwich, likely because it was quality carved meat and not sandwich slices. The sandwich was good, but the fries were horrible.

The Philly Cheeses Steak my friend ate had him raving about how good it was.

Charley's Grilled Subs - Plantation, FL

What do you do when you're starving and shopping at the mall? You head to the food court. The choices. Not appealing. So, I choose something I hadn't had before, Charley's Grilled Subs.

I tried the Philly Cheesesteak. It was pretty good.

And the Bacon Cheese Fries. They were alright.

Would I seek out Charley? No, but if I am stuck in the mall and starving, I would give Charley's another chance.

El Rinconcito El Chele - Coral Gables, FL

Dining at El Rinconcito El Chele makes me feel like I am back home in Cuba (at least that I want I imagine it would feel like). I am not Cuban and I have never even been to Cuba, but if I did, this is how I would want it to be. Despite the lack of parking and the crowded atmosphere during the lunch hour, I keep going back.

The food is really good, fairly priced, and huge (you can share). I typically get the Pork Chops (it comes with two), moro and tostones (big but not crispy).

After eating all of that, at this point, I am stuffed, but I always have to finish off lunch with bunelos cubanos, which is like sweet heaven.

Product Review: InstaNatural's Argan Oil Hair Treatment & Elixir

InstaNatural's Argan Oil Hair Treatment & Elixir is not made of 100% Argan Oil, but the combination of oils including coconut oil, olive oil  and jojoba oil, do a great job of making my hair feel soft and silky. You can use it as a leave in conditioner or as a heat and damage protectant, but I find the best use for is as a hot oil treatment. Hot oil treatments are excellent for giving dry, dull hair a deep conditioning and helping to prevent future damage.

The process is simple. First, apply the oil to the hair, then put a plastic cap on the hair and sit under the dryer for a few minutes to help it retain heat, and last but not least, rinse and style.
