I have a charcoal grill but since I live on my own and don't have a family to feed, it's time consuming and wasteful to light up the grill just to make a one steak, a little bit of veggies, etc unless I am having a barbecue. Besides, here in South Florida, it is often raining and just too damn hot to be outside cooking, so grilling indoors with a cast iron is the greatest thing ever.

I must admit I am a bit obsessed and that I use my cast iron several times a week. Plus, not only does the cast iron add more flavor to the food, but some of the iron is actually absorbed into the food so if you are iron deficient, this is a great solution.
