Visit Austin Texas: Manuel’s Downtown, Max's Wine Dive & Dolce Neve Gelato

Just like every other trip that I have ever been on in my entire life, as soon as I landed in Austin, my first goal was to eat ASAP. In my mind (maybe slightly delusional mind), Texas is an extension of Mexico so I felt obliged to eat Mexican food. While checking into the hotel the fabulous front desk extraordinaire suggested we try Manuel’s Downtown. After checking with the internet to agree that this was a good spot, we decided it was okay to go. So, we put down our bag in the room and walked to the restaurant which was located very close by.

Manuel's was quite good and it was Happy Hour so we had a good time. I opted for a different dish based the recommendation of the server but still he let me try their famous Mole sauce.

After our tasty and very early dinner we explored the city a bit seeing places like the Texas Capitol and the haunted Driskill Hotel.

If I'm going to keep it real, Austin is not a sightseeing city. However, they are about the bats, so bored of our city exploring, we went to the bridge (and what we really came to Austin for) to watch the bats take flight for the awesome but kind of creepy experience (if you think about it).

It took a long time for them to come out and after they finally did it was like okay, cool, what's next? For us, it was heading back to the hotel for the evening because we had plans to drive to San Antonio the next day. But before we hit the road the next morning, we hit up Max's Wine Dive for brunch the next morning.

The food was good, service was wonderful and again a great experience.
Wine Dive Mimosas
Wagyu Steak & Eggs (AMAZING)
Famous Southern Fried Chicken and Waffles (DELISH)

After brunch (despite not really being hungry and not making much sense), I headed to Dolce Neve so I could try their unique Goat Cheese and Pecan flavored Gelato which was fab by the way.
